Today kicks off our 3rd annual Hunger Doesn’t Vacation campaign! Over the past three years our BedMart family has made it our mission to help fight child hunger in our state. By partnering with the Portland Police Sunshine Division we are stepping in to combat summertime hunger and increase awareness within the Portland community.
Unfortunately, when the final school bell rings in June, not everyone is excited for summer vacation. For the 20,000 Portland area children eligible for free or reduced-price lunch, summer can be a time of increased hunger. Many families find it difficult to fill the gap created by the loss of school meals. It’s important to us to help alleviate the stress these families experience.
