Home & Life
The holiday season is upon us! Are you in a time crunch to get your home ready for guests? Here are some quick tips to get you prepared for the hectic holidays with loved ones.
Make sure you have a place for coats
Guests will probably be wearing coats when they arrive to your home. It is important to have a central location where everyone can place their coats. This can be a coat rack or a closet. Your guests will thank you later for making it easier for them to find their items, and it will lessen the clutter around your home.
Make a Grand Entrance
The first thing your guests will see is your doorway. Make sure that this area is clean, and consider adding some festive decorations. A simple wreath or rug can really help add character to your doorway. First impressions are everything, so make a bold statement with your entrance.
Prep your guest bedroom
This is where they will be staying, so make them feel as if this were their home too. Prep the bed with comfy, clean sheets and blankets. Make sure they have all the essentials they would need such as towels, wifi information, power outlets, etc. Leave a note explaining how to work the important things such as the heater, tv, or any other appliances/electronics.
Plan your meals
It’s time to prep your grocery shopping list and hit the stores. If any of your guests have allergies, make sure you are considerate of their needs while prepping. Potlucks are also a great option to share the work on making food for the holidays. Try to have a clear plan a few days before the event.
Have an emergency cleaning kit
Let’s be honest. Messes do happen. Be prepared with a kit with all the essential cleaning supplies such as all-purpose cleaner, sponges, gloves, and rags. Don’t forget to add in some great stain removers, such as lemon, salt, and soda.
Add some fresh flowers
The easiest way to liven up your home is by adding a few fresh flowers. You can go to your local grocery store and buy $5 bouquets to place in vases around the house. It can add some holiday ambiance and beautiful scents to your space.
Now, go have a great holiday with your friends and family.
